John McCain’s health records must be released

posted September 28, 2008

Watch this video, READ all the ‘more …‘ links, THEN pass it on. The state of John McCain’s health is an issue of grave concern for all Americans, regardless of political persuasion. John McCain has not yet released his medical records to the public. Given the fact that McCain is 72 years old, and has been treated for an invasive melanoma and other maladies, it is important that he release his full health records (more …).

For a very brief three hours in May this year, McCain released 1,173 pages of his medical records (more …) to a carefully selected group of reporters (more …), and were allowed only three hours to do so.  They were not allowed to make any copies or phone calls.  Why such secrecy?

A group of doctors from around the country has been enlisted to lead the effort to make sure the public is able to see and make judgments for themselves.  Secrecy is not of service to our democracy, transparency is.

Cancer is a serious issue.  That’s why 681 (and counting) medical doctors have already signed an open letter (more …) telling McCain to issue a full, public disclosure of all his medical records.  Send this video far and wide to request that McCain release his full health records.  Ask every medical doctor you know to sign onto the letter, and be sure to sign the letter yourself!  McCain’s records must be made public and soon.

While McCain doesn’t really care about our health care (more …), we all should care about the health of McCain. John McCain’s health is an issue of profound importance. We call on John McCain to issue a full, public disclosure of all of his medical records, available for the media and members of the general public to review.

Tell everyone you know about this posting.

McCain Blows Off Letterman For Katie Couric

posted September 25, 2008

John McCain blew off David Letterman Thursday night because he said was getting back to Washington to address the economic crisis. Only it turned out he wasn’t in Washington, he was still in New York — being “interviewed” by Katie Couric. This YouTube excerpt is “an hour of ridicule boiled down to nine minutes.” This week has truly shown how John McCain simply cannot handle any crisis put before him. Barack Obama clearly has demonstrated the qualities needed in a President. Voting for Barack Obama is the best choice and the right choice for the future of our country.

Chuck Todd: If NOVA Hits 60%, Game Over

posted September 24, 2008

NBC political analyst Chuck Todd provided some analysis today regarding an MSNBC Poll that came out today on the Virginia race.  Here are his thoughts.

*** Virginia is for lovers of a close race: The latest TODAY Show/NBC/Mason-Dixon poll has McCain ahead by three points in Virginia, 47%-44%. To see the difference between winning and losing in the Old Dominion, check out these numbers in the poll: Obama wins Northern Virginia by a 55%-37% margin, while McCain wins the crucial Hampton Roads area by 48%-44%. But in the recent Washington Post/ABC survey, which had Obama leading in Virginia by three points among likely voters, Obama was at 59% in Northern Virginia and was up 50%-45% in Hampton Roads. This tells you that if Obama does get to 60% in NoVa, he just might win the state even if he loses every other region. But Hampton Roads may very well be the ballgame in the state. By the way, it’s worth noting in the TODAY/NBC/Mason-Dixon poll that 58% of undecided voters in the presidential contest are backing Democratic Senate candidate Mark Warner, who leads Republican Jim Gilmore 61%-28% in the poll. Can Obama reel in more of those Warner voters? Will Warner risk alienating any of those wavering presidential Democrats by using his political capital to campaign heavily for Obama in places where Obama isn’t doing well by Warner is?

Remember our friends in Arlington County are pushing for 80% turnout and 80% performance.  The City of Alexandria will clear 60%.  Loudoun and Prince William will be close.  This race comes down to Fairfax County folks.

Get out and knock some doors.
