The election of Gerry Connolly to Congress in the 11th District seat being vacated by Tom Davis (R) leaves an open seat for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. There will be a special election to fill that vacancy on Tuesday February 3, 2009.

Sharon has been a powerful advocate for Fairfax County for more than 20 years. She has demonstrated the strong leadership, common sense goals and the drive and determination to inspire positive change.

Braddock Supervisor Sharon Bulova (D) is running against Republican first-time office holder, Springfield Supervisor Pat Herrity (who has already demonstrated in his short time in office an unwillingness to work bipartisanly with the Board of Supervisors).
