The State Fair of Virginia is being held this year at the Meadow Farm Event Park (conveniently located off I-95 exit 98 next to Kings Dominion) in Caroline County from Thursday, September 23 through Sunday, October 3. The Caroline County Democratic Committee will be the host committee and will be running the Democratic Party of Virginia booth at the fair. Volunteers will have passes for FREE entry into the fair (some parking passes will be available as well). The booth will be staffed every day the fair is open for the entire time that the Farm Bureau Building is open.  For more information about the fair, please go to http://www.statefair.com.  The booth will be open as follows:

• Sunday thru Thursday 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Friday & Saturday 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

There will be three volunteer shifts per day from open at 10:00 am to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to close.  Each person signing up to help will be given a ticket to get into the fair FREE for the day.  Please contact Maggie Sacra* if you are interested in volunteering (you will be contacted to answer questions and confirm the date and time to volunteer).

It would great if other Democratic committees could “adopt a day” as many had done last year, committing as a group to take a day (or most of a day) to staff the booth (please plan to have at least three volunteers for each shift on weekdays and six volunteers for each shift on Friday and weekends).
