The Fairfax County Democratic Committee will meet Tuesday, September 28th, at 7:30 pm at South Lakes High School (11400 South Lakes Drive, Reston, VA 20191; map click here).

Our special guest speakers will include:

• Our three Congressional candidates: Congressman Jim Moran (8th), Congressman Gerry Connolly (11th)  and Jeff Barnett (10th).
• Yohannes Abraham, current Political Director for Organizing for America, formerly Virginia State Field Director for the 2008 general election campaign, and proud Fairfax County native.

At the meeting we will vote on proposed changes to the FCDC Bylaws. These bylaws changes are being proposed by the Bylaws Committee that was authorized at our January 2010 reorganization meeting. The Bylaws Committee* was composed of members appointed by each district chair and four members appointed by Rex Simmons, Chair FCDC. The Bylaws Committee collected ideas for changes and sent drafts to the Steering Committee and the full membership for review and comments. The bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the members present and voting at two consecutive regular meetings of the county committee. If a majority of members approve the changes at the September meeting, we will take up the changes again at the November meeting. The documents show the changes in two formats. One format shows the changed wording highlighted in yellow. The other format shows deleted words with a strike-out and changes in yellow.
