Annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup, Huntley Meadows

Please join nature lovers, civic activists, ennvironmentalists to help cleanup our local park at Huntley Meadows Park as part of the 23rd Annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup on Saturday April 9, 2011 from 9am – noon.

Special Site / Volunteer Information

  • Maximum parking capacity is 40
  • Restrooms are available
  • Special issues at this site:
    • stream clean up of Little Hunting Creek is 1/4 mile+ walk through forest with undergrowth and vines off the trail
    • the terrain is wet and muddy, and ticks are already active (see tick information links below), so people should dress accordingly
    • not be suitable for young children, or volunteers with physical limitations that would impede off trail movement and hauling trash
    • trash bags and other debris must be carried overland through undergrowth for disposal
