This Saturday: March for Science

The day begins at 9am, with a rally featuring Rep. Don Beyer at Upper Senate Park
Don Beyer, a key congressional leader on science and climate issues and a strong opponent of the Trump administration’s policies, will address 8th District Virginians before at Upper Senate Park near Union Station and the Capitol. See the event Facebook page.

The main event begins at 10am, with main-stage speakers and several large teach-in tents around the Mall where scientists, educators, and leaders from a wide variety of disciplines will discuss their work, effective science communication strategies, and training in public advocacy.

Need someone to go with? Take Metro with other 8th District attendees. Meet up at Franconia-Springfield Metro Station at 7:10am. Be sure to add funds to your Metro SmarTrip card before the day of the event!

We will have poster board, markers, glue, scissors, stencils, and graphite paper to transfer computer designs as well as a projector to project designs if needed. Bring your own ideas, stickers, glitter, paint, and fresh markers.
