Just a bit of rain at the end, great barbecue from King Street Blues, wine tasting by Democracy Vineyards, a fun silent auction, delicious concoctions from Del. David Bulova, and a lot of work from LeeDems members and friends made for a very successful annual luau. Thanks to all who attended and contributed.

Special note: Supervisor McKay just broke his foot and could not attend.

LeeDems June 2009 Meeting

The Lee District Democratic Committee held its regular monthly meeting on June 25th 2009 at the Sickles HQ and welcomed Attorney General Candidate Steve Shannon (Shannon2009.com). We usually hold our meeting at Susie Warner’s home; however, this meeting we cleaned, organized and readied the headquarters for the 2009 General Election Campaign – as well as conducted our regular business.

The Sickles 2009 Headquarters (hopefully soon to be a Coordinated Campaign 2009 satellite office) is in the Landsdowne Shopping Center above the Kingstowne Library at the corner of Telegraph and Beulah (6460 Landsdowne Center, Alexandria, VA 22315; map: http://tinyurl.com/Sickles2009).

2009 8th CD Convention Results

The very successful 2009 8th CD Convention, held Saturday May 16th at Edison High School, concluded with the unanimous adoption of the resolutions presented to the Convention and the election of a newly constituted membership.

Credentialed voters by jurisdiction attending the convention: Arlington 82, Alexandria 14, Fairfax 53 and Falls Church 5. Special thanks to Lee District members who attended, and in particular to Supervisor Jeff McKay for greeting the Fairfax Caucus and Delegate Mark Sickles who chaired the Fairfax Caucus.
