Starting this weekend, hundreds of volunteers are hitting the pavement to start getting out the vote for Democrats. This is the earliest we’ve ever started and it’s all thanks to your support.

Crestwood ES, Garfield ES and Lynbrook ES are in the 11th Congressional District (Gerry Connolly), with all others in the 8th Congressional District (Jim Moran).

The White House Internship: A Public Service Leadership Program

The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office and prepare them for future public service opportunities.

We will be having a short rally and training session before we kick-off 2010’s voter registration efforts from the Mason District Government Center at 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003; map: http://tinyurl.com/MasonGC.

People attending will be dispatched to pre-determined locations to register voters following the rally/training. Volunteers will return at the end of the day with completed registration forms.

Election Day Information:  On Election Day polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. Please note on Election Day, voters have a choice of voting a paper ballot using the OS (Optical Scan) voting machine or, voting on the DRE (Direct Recording Electronic or Touchscreen) voting machine. Cesar, Sheila, and Lisa are a great team who will bring new leadership and fresh ideas to the town council.  Together on the Town Council they will work hard to bring real solutions to a town that has begun to fall behind.  In these tough times they want to bring in more businesses that offer high paying jobs and more tax revenue to Fairfax as well as manage planning to reduce traffic congestion and prepare for the Metro going to Dulles.  They are tired of the current town council ignoring the dropping standard of living and housing prices.

Ronald Mitchell was disqualified for not having 1,000 signatures of qualified voters in the 8th Congressional District as required.

The final total vote tally 219-212 DOES reflect the will of the people.

• NAY – 34 Democratic, 178 Republican
