General Election, Tuesday November 8, 2011 (polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm). Two seats from the General Assembly are to be filled by Special Election on January 11, 2011. In the 8th House District, Democrat Ginger Mumpower is running to fill the seat of Republican Morgan Griffith who won the 9th Congressional District seat from Democratic Congressman Rick Boucher who has served in the House since 1982. In the 19th Senate District, Democrat Hank Davis is running to fill the seat of Republican Robert Hurt who won the 5th Congressional District seat from first term Democratic Congressman Tom Perriello.

Democrats from all across the Commonwealth can pitch in and here is how. Donate your time, help make calls for Hank and Ginger through the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) virtual phone bank, click here . Donate money, and ask your friends to donate too: for Hank Davis, for Ginger Mumpower.
